Staff:
The manager of Active Angels Nursery is Lisa Hill. Lisa holds a BTEC National Diploma in Early Childhood Studies and has 9 years experience as a nursery manager. She is supported by staff with experience and qualifications in Child Care.

Key Worker System:
Active Angels Nursery operates a key worker system. Children’s individual needs are identified and cared for by all staff in the room; however there will be one member of staff allocated to each child to monitor their development. This person will be the childs key worker. They will monitor the childs progression in the different areas of development, and then record their observations in the appropriate way.

Outdoor Play: The outdoor play area is totally secure with a fence surrounding it. We have a garden area to plant seeds and grow flowers, a safety flooring area, and a paved area. We also have on-site access to six acres of land. Before going outside full risk assessments and checks take place every time.

We place a strong emphasis on physical development and co-ordination skills at our nursery. Our unique nursery will offer different forms of physical activity on a daily basis, coupled with a healthy diet, ensuring our children grow up with the opportunity to maximize their potential in every way.

Safety:
One of our main aims is to provide a safe environment. Our building is secure, as well as a safe and fun place for children to play in. We have digital code locks on the main entrance door, and on doors inside the nursery. The combinations are only known to staff members. All staff members wear tabards with their names on so you can identify them easily.


Car Park:
There is a large secure area for parking right outside the front entrance of the nursery. This area is accessed through a large gate. The area will be lit by large security lights on dark mornings and evenings. We also have a fenced- off area around the main entrance, as security is of optimum importance to us.


Parent / Carers Need To Provide:
At Active Angels Nursery we will provide most of the equipment necessary to ensure the best quality of care for each child. However, we are aware that parents have personal preferences in certain areas, which is why we ask parents to provide the following items:

• Bottles (for children under 12 months)
• Food for each meal time (for children under 12 months)
• Rain coats (when necessary)
• A spare set of clothes

Please label all items of your childs belongings. If parents wish to bring anything else in for their child, due to their own preferences, they are free to do so. We are aware that some children have sensitive skin and/or allergies, and parents would rather bring in their own wipes etc.

Meals & Refreshments:

Nursery meals are provided for all children over 12 months. All children will have a mid-morning snack, which consists of a variety of fruits, and a mid-afternoon snack, which consists of a variety of savoury foods.

Breakfast is between 8:00 - 9:00am. A variety of cereals are available to cater for each child’s preference.

Lunchtime is 12:00 - 1:00 pm. Lunch consists of a hot meal followed by a dessert.

Teatime is at 4:00pm; there are a variety of finger foods available followed by a choice of fruit.

All meals are freshly cooked/prepared each day by our on site cook. We endeavour to give the children their 5 a-day portions of fruit and vegetables and we cater for individual dietary needs at all times.
